The Reverend Cyril Shadforth Morton was a prize-winning philatelist. He wrote a number of detailed articles on the early stamps of Mauritius, the strength of his work lying in his willingness to delve into Public Record Office and Colonial Office files, and willingness to trawl the contemporary Mauritius newspapers.
